ride-on-dinner (6) with Architecture+Philosophy
4pm Saturday 10 December 2011, Edinburgh Gardens Fitzroy North

Join a swarm of cyclists on a gentle rolling urban meal adventure. ride-on-dinner is a mobile participatory performance experience that anyone can pedal. The Cultural Transports Collective started hosting ride-on-dinners in Melbourne. We learnt some tricks and developed an ethos along the way. Use our  ride-on-dinner RECIPE  to DIY, send us photos and help us improve and make more recipes and more ride-on-dinners! We take a slow meal journey served from pedal-powered vehicles over the duration of an easy early-evening cycle. A ride-on-dinner demonstrates simple pleasures in hospitality and local knowledge whilst feeling a link between human-scaled food and transport systems. Diners become co-creators riding relationships between individual human body, a temporarily collected social body and the body of the city. Pedal your power. First to roll up, first for dinner.
